Walking Log ... Walks including "Lose Hill"

Lose Hill
Lose Hill lies at the end of the Great Ridge that runs east from Rushup Edge, over Mam Tor, Hollins Cross and Back Tor.

There is a myth that Lose Hill gets its name from the Battle of Win Hill and Lose Hill in 626. Wessex and Mercia gathered their forces on Lose Hill and marched on a Northumbrian army based on Win Hill. Despite their superior numbers, Wessex was defeated.
