Walking Log ... Walks including "Hell Gill Bridge"

Hell Gill Bridge
Hell Gill Bridge is a small stone built bridge on Lady Anne's Way in the Mallerstang Valley. It spans a deep but narrow ravine carved out by Hell Gill as it runs down the hillside to form the River Eden. Since 1969 it has been designated a Grade II listed building.

Don't miss the view of the ravine from the bridge. At this point it is unexpectedly deep, but unless you're seven feet tall you'll have to get a foothold in the side of the bridge and lift yourself up to look over. Well worth this little amount of effort though.
