Bruce's Stone
A huge granite boulder located on Moss Raploch on the northern banks of Loch Trool in Galloway Forest Park. It was set to commemorate Robert the Bruce’s first victory over the English in March 1307 during the Scottish Wars of Independance, leading up to to the Battle of Bannockburn.

Its location is generally held as the most common start point for the reasonably tough ascent of Merrick, which at 2764 feet is the highest mountain in southern Scotland.
