Walking Log ... Walks including "Whernside Tarns"

Whernside Tarns
A small collection of bonny tarns located at just over 2000 feet altitude on the northern flank of Whernside. Although they lay close to the Craven Way and the Three Peaks trails, these tarns are often overlooked, with most pedestrians passing by blissfully unaware of their existence.

This is a bit of a shame as not only are the tarns worth viewing in their own right, they also provide a fantastic vantage point for views across to Great Coum and Green Hill, Dentdale, and the northern Dales fells and Howgills beyond.
