Walking Log ... Walks including "Rampsgill Head"

Rampsgill Head
Rampsgill Head is a flat topped subsiduary of High Street, and the start of two ridges - one heading northwest to Place Fell, and a broad grassy ridge heading directly north which carried the High Street Roman road. Although the summit is a broad grassy field, the northern flank is rather more impressive, a craggy face dropping steeply down into Martindale.

At 792m, Rampsgill Head is the 3rd highest Wainwright in the Far Eastern Fells, and 41st highest fell overall.
