Walking Log ... Walks including "Braithwaite Wife Hole"

Braithwaite Wife Hole
Huge funnel shaped sink hole located on the northern slopes of Ingleborough, directly on the Three Peaks path between Ingleborough and Whernside.

Sink holes are generally caused by the karst process, where the underlying rock is dissolved away. This particularly large example is approximately 50 yards across and over 25 yards deep. You wouldn't want to fall down it.
