Ali's Walk Summary/Comments:
It's mid-December now, and I'm finally catching up on a few walks I haven't yet logged! Shame on me...

I usually do this circuit the other way round, but after setting off I didn't really fancy the bitch of a climb up Mearley Moor. So I quickly chucked in a right turn and headed for the main drag up from the Nick.

Nothing much of note today, except there was absolutely no-one about. Pretty much had Pendle to myself, which usually only happens when the weather is a touch inclement - bonus!

Area:Forest of Bowland AONB - Lancashire
Fells climbed:Pendle Hill
POI's:The Sunken Wall Of Pendle
OS Outdoor Leisure:21N 41E

The originally planned route, before I cried off and headed right to go up the easier way!

The main drag up from the Nick, Betty with her head stuck in something interesting...

Approaching Ogden Clough - only one cairn still standing (there were four at one point)

Starting up the flags across the top end of Barley Moor

Betty chilling out at the trig

The stile, much photgraphed by 'The Summiteer' Richard Ratcliffe (his pics are usually more striking than my feeble shot!)

Anyone fancy a dip? Happen, but not in here....

Grey and bleak!

Clitheroe from above Mearley Brook - Kemple End and the Bowland Fells in the distance

The sunken wall.... recent dry weather has depleted the pond somewhat

Much easier going down this way!

A last look back at our descent
